According to an anonymous tipster, the G430 will boast a 14.1-inch WXGA display, 2GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive, Vista Home Basic, a DVD burner, NVIDIA’s 256MB GeForce 9300M GS and a 6-cell battery. Furthermore, you’ll find 802.11a/b/g WiFi, no webcam and an undisclosed array of ports. Your guess is as good as ours when it comes to pricing / availability, but surely we’ll know something more soon. Surely.

It looks like Mobotix has a solution for those wishing their security cameras were a bit more all-seeing, with its new Q22 model promising to deliver a full 360-degrees of vision. That’s done with the use of a hemispheric lens, which eliminates the need for any moving parts and lets the Huge Brother in question digitally flatten, pan, tilt or zoom any image. As if that wasn’t enough, the Q22 can also be run entirely over Power over Ethernet (or PoE), and it boasts a built-in speaker and microphone to grant for some two-way communication. Otherwise, you can anticipate a decent enough 3.1-megapixel resolution, along with SIP support, accommodations for various CCTV management platforms, and Mobotix’s own MxControlCenter video management software. As you might expect, however, all that doesn’t exactly come cheap, with the basic model running you €498 (or $776), and the premium version demanding €648 (or just over $1,000).

Thanks to a new partnership between Nintendo and Fujifilm, the Wii Digicam Print Channel is immediately available for Japanese Wii consoles to access, which essentially gives owners the capability to upload images from SD cards and receive customized prints, photo books, business cards, etc. in the mail. We’re not <strike>totally</strike> at all sure why someone would choose to handle this on a gaming console rather than, say, an actual personal, but hey — who are we to judge? Oh, and for you folks in North America, Europe and beyond, expect the service to roll your way sometime in the future.

It’s simple enough to drool over the press shots of Nikon’s luscious D700. Seeing someone unbox this full-frame beast on video is another experience entirely (bordering on spiritual, really). Unfortunately, the vid waiting after the break is just two minutes long and doesn’t show any clicks being depressed, but those looking to get a better idea of the size and build have plenty of reason to click through.

First, he detailed AMD’s plans to take on Intel’s Atom processor this fall, which was apparently news to AMD’s Chief Marketing Officer, and now AMD is denying a report that AMD is set to spin off its manufacturing operations into a separate company, which arose out of an interview Meyer gave to the Austin American-Statesman. In it, Meyer reportedly said that AMD was “just months away” from spinning off its fabrication business, which would let it concentrate on designing, marketing and selling chips, and grant it to compete more effectively against its two large rivals: Intel and NVIDIA. As eWEEK reports, however, an AMD spokesperson now states that Meyer was referring simply to “how the company manufactures its wafers,” which could possibly be a reference to the company’s planned shift to a 45-nanometer manufacturing process. That’s quite a difference, and we’re guessing we’ll be hearing yet more “clarification” on the matter before all is said and done.

Intel is looking to simplify things by adding more processors. Yeah, doesn’t sound all that sensible to us, ether, but stay put. Okay. Ready for some acronyms?
Intel is looking to simplify things by adding more processors. Yeah, doesn’t sound all that sensible to us, ether, but stay put. Okay. Ready for some acronyms? Their just-announced EP80579 Integrated Processor features a system on a chip design that integrate the Pentium M core with a Memory Controller Hub (MCH), I/O hub (ICH) and data path acceleration engines (among other things dependent upon model). They believe these new Integrated Architecture (IA) chips will simplify consumer electronics like set-top boxes and MIDs due to their consolidated design that will reduce incompatibility issues. Intel also states portable devices will benefit from the new processors’ energy efficiency. Speeds run from 600MHz on up to 1.2GHz and all sport a 256KB L2 cache. As for when this new tech will end up in your cable box or MID, no news on that just yet. In other words, don’t call your provider just yet.
