Ovi Contacts features are making the rounds on newish Nokia firmwares as of late, and the N85’s latest is no exception. Version 30.019 is starting to circulate around the world, bringing with it realtime contact location and status updates — the massive news here, obviously — along with vaguely-stated “improvements in USB charging.” If only it’d pull another 3 megapixels out of thin air, we could forgo the outlay for the N86 then, eh?

Who needs press releases? You can snap up an MSI U210 pre-order right this second on Amazon, so why bother waiting MSI to actually confirm the thing for a Stateside release? Morality. That’s why. Kids these days think they can just drop $430 on any old Athlon Neo MV-40-powered (the same chips at the heart of HP’s dv2) 12-inch XGA ultraportable with 2GB of RAM and a 250GB HDD and 802.11n and not have to pay the consequences. Well, we’re not standing for it. That read link right below? Not an implied approval of these illicit activities.

We hate concept cars. Year after year we see new concept cars more fantastical and incredible than the last, and year after year we see vehicles hit the market that have had all the magic ripped out of them by safety regulations and market realities. The newly unveiled Vision EfficientDynamics car from BMW is mainly here to show us BMW’s new diesel-based plug-in hybrid drive system. But it’s also here to annoy us. Video is after the break.

We’ve seen the Pleo get shredded, overtaken by a Wii wand, and generally mocked for its status as a perennially endangered species. With no dignity left to protect, its makers have decided they might as well kick out an SDK, or PDK in this case, to let the great unwashed masses have their way with the originally autonomous bot. Still only in the alpha stage and not yet widely available, the dev kit has already borne fruit in the shape of a shockingly awesome dance video. We’ve got it for you after the break, but a warning first: prepare to fall in love all over again.
[Thanks, Eric]
