ASUS might have been beaten to the punch by a few other companies and their
bamboo-ensconced offerings, but it looks like it’s now getting its first bamboo laptop out the door at long last, and it’s taken the chance to finally get official with a price. Apparently, the first few 12-inch models will go on sale at
Taiwan’s IT Month exhibition on Saturday, where they’ll run NT$59,900, or just over $1,800. Unfortunately, it’s not clear exactly which configuration that’ll get you, but, judging from the
last word out of ASUS, even the base config seems to be pretty capable.

Oh Rolly… we know you’re an overpriced, 2GB dancing robot with convoluted controls and questionable sound quality. But dammit, your impractical, big-corporate ways have gnawed a soft-spot deep into the noxious cesspool we call a heart. Now this: Rolly model SEP-50BT with Bluetooth control from your cellphone or laptop. Shipping in Japan on November 21st for an expected

Switzerland-based cable company Naxoo is giving its customers a few new high-def channels to feast on, but they won’t be arriving for free. The new package includes National Geographic HD, BBC HD, HD3 Culture, iConcerts HD, Arte HD and Melody Zen TV for a monthly fee of around $8.40 per month, but taking into account that AT&T is charging $5 for an extra three high-def channels, we guess this is just about par for the course.

Word on the street is that the top ten Walmarts in each market will be getting hooked up with the T-Mobile G1 on the 24th of November. That in itself isn’t really news — massive boxes have really been ramping up their wireless sales as of late — but here’s where it gets juicy: we’re hearing that they’ll go for just $148.88 on a two-year contract. That’d certainly be consistent with Walmart’s policy of selling stuff at weird prices that are slightly lower than everyone else, and in this particular case, it happens to add up to a solid $31.11 less than what you can do by waltzing into a T-Mobile corporate store. We’re not sure it’s enough of a discount to justify waiting a month — but if late November was your window for picking up a G1 anyway, this just makes the deal that much sweeter.

Lenovo’s
S10 netbook has been relatively well received since its introduction earlier this year, but the battery life has always been a bit of a sticking point, with the included 3-cell battery simply not meeting some folks’ netbook demands. It looks like that situation has now been rectified, in Germany, where a new model equipped with a six-cell battery has just gone on sale for the fairly reasonable price of €329 (or roughly $425). Unfortunately, there’s no indication of a release ’round these parts just yet, but you can check out some more photos of the somewhat bulky addition by hitting up the link below.
